But as it turns out, Dennis Dixon will make his first start in probably one of the biggest games of the season for the Steelers. This game has so many implications on the line, and the two-year QB will be the chief operator of our offense.
Yikes.
In the preseason games I've watched, Dixon has shown to have good accuracy, but typically it took him four or five passes before he got in a rythm. If the Ravens terrorize him early, as I'm sure they will do everything in their power to do so, I'm not sure that Dixon's confidence can grow as the game progresses.
The plus side for Dixon is that he has tremendous scrambling abilities, so that may slow down the pass rush early on.
This game may be the most entertaining game of the season, or the most disastrous.
We always have a chance with our Defense, but things could turn very ugly very early.
Unfortunately I won't be able to give a play-by-play breakdown tonight as I'll be at a friend's wedding (hopefully I'll take some decent photos). But I am DVR'ing the game, so I'd like to see how Dixon played overall.
